Senior Data Scientist In this role, you will: Extract deep, valuable insights from performance data and transform them into actionable strategies that drive both top and bottom-line growth. Apply core analytics concepts, including data modelling and KPI measurement, to evaluate and improve business performance and inform strategic initiatives. Translate business problems into structured analytical questions and choose the most appropriate methodologies to answer these questions. Apply expertise in data modelling, quantitative analysis, data mining , data visualization with a goal of improving customer experience and business results. Develop and deliver self-service analytics capabilities for Sales, Account Management, Finance, and other support functions, empowering them with the data they need to make informed decisions. Act as the authoritative source of data management principles within the SPA organization. Shape and promote best practices for data usage and analytics across the organization. Incrementality test design and analysis for 2 large partner segments. Work on a Machine Learning model for econometric elasticity modelling within Partner Marketing. This position is not eligible for relocation benefits or assistance . May work remotely or from home 2 days/week; must live within commuting distance of Expedia office.

Requirements

  • Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Data Science , Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in an analytics-related occupation.
  • SQL
  • Python or R
  • Statistical analysis
  • Tableau or PowerBI
  • Advanced data handling including managing and analyzing large datasets
  • Stakeholder management and communication including presenting to stakeholders
  • Supervised and unsupervised machine learning through linear regression, random forest, or k-means
  • A:B test design and analysis including bias evaluation and correction, statistical test evaluatio n, test set up best practice, ability to translate to a business impact
