About The Position

We are seeking a senior data scientist to serve as the program's technical authority for data science, data engineering, and applied AI supporting DIA analysts. You guide how analytic tools are built, tested, and adopted, with a firm standard for responsible, auditable use in intelligence workflows. Functional Leads set the standard for their discipline across the whole program, not just one team. You mentor practitioners across multiple DIA centers, shape how the program hires and trains, and grow along a defined leadership path. Position is contingent upon contract award. Selected candidates receive contingent offers in advance of award. All discussions are held in confidence and do not affect current employment.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field
  • 8+ years of data science or machine learning experience, including 5+ supporting DoD or the Intelligence Community
  • Experience developing or deploying analytic or machine learning tools in classified environments
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical staff
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance Required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8 years Minimum Years of Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IC analytic modernization or AI adoption efforts
  • Generative AI or large language model tooling in secure environments
  • Proficiency in Python and common machine learning frameworks
  • Experience translating technical work for analysts and senior leaders

Responsibilities

  • Lead data scientists, data engineers, and computer scientists across supported centers as the program's senior technical authority
  • Set standards for responsible, auditable AI and analytics in intelligence workflows
  • Guide analytic tools from pilot through evaluation and deployment in accredited development environments
  • Mentor technical practitioners and develop training that helps analysts use AI tools effectively and responsibly
  • Coordinate with government technical leads and partner teams; serve on hiring panels
  • Remain hands-on in data science and tool development
  • Continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment
  • Completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams
  • Consistently provide services that meet customer expectations
  • Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts
  • Read and understand his/her Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities
  • Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job
