About The Position

This is a 12-month contract hybrid role in Toronto. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team on a 12-month contract to support key machine learning initiatives. The role involves using advanced analytical algorithms and technologies to mine and analyze large datasets, design new data modeling processes, and develop predictive models. The Senior Data Scientist will leverage big data technology to design solutions that deliver smarter business decisions, improve customer experience, and drive productivity. Collaboration with other data professionals and teams is key to optimize and scale analysis into mature analytics solutions. The role also includes playing an active part in the futuristic display of data, advancing innovative data strategies, and assessing the feasibility of AI/ML solutions. The Senior Data Scientist will conduct large-scale analysis to discover patterns and trends, provide recommendations to business leaders, develop prediction systems and machine learning algorithms, and investigate new technologies for innovative data solutions. Collaboration with the product team and partners to understand and provide data-driven decision making, business planning, and future roadmaps is expected. The role operates at a group/enterprise-wide level, serving as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders, applying expertise creatively to address complex and non-routine situations, and implementing changes in response to shifting trends. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. The role requires taking measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework, making sound and risk-informed decisions aligned to business strategy, protecting assets, and adhering to applicable policy documents, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and/or certification in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong programming skills in Python or SAS
Proficiency in both SQL and Big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
Experience in automation and scheduling of data pipeline for end-to-end scoring solutions
Experience developing customer discretionary pricing optimization models is an asset

Nice To Haves

Experience working in cloud based modeling environment a plus (ie. AWS Sagemaker, AzureML, etc)

Responsibilities

Uses advanced analytical algorithms and technologies (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence) to mine and analyze large sets of structured and unstructured data to obtain insights.
Designs and constructs new processes for modeling data.
Develops predictive models and leverages big data technology to design solutions that deliver smarter business decisions, improve customer experience, and drive productivity.
Collaborates with other data and analytics professionals and teams to optimize, refine and scale analysis into mature analytics solutions.
Plays an active role in the futuristic display of data, and advancement of innovative data strategies to understand consumer trends and address business problems.
Uses data mining and extracting usable data from valuable data sources to assess feasibility of AI/ML solutions for improved processing and usage of organization data.
Conducts large-scale analysis of information to discover patterns and trends by combining different modules and algorithms.
Uses analysis to provide recommendations and advice for business leaders to maintain to maintain market competitiveness.
Develops prediction systems and machine learning algorithms.
Investigates additional technologies and tools for developing innovative data solutions for business stakeholders.
Collaborate together with the product team and partners to understand and provide data-driven decision making, business planning and future roadmap.
Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
Implements changes in response to shifting trends.
