Vay is rewriting the rules of urban mobility by offering a service where customers can tap a button and a car arrives, remotely driven by their world-first Remote Driving technology on real public streets. They are live in Las Vegas and scaling rapidly, supported by a strategic investment of up to $410 million from Grab. Vay's mission is to replace private car ownership with a faster, cleaner, door-to-door mobility model. They are the first to roll out vehicles in both Europe and the USA on public roads without a human being inside and are currently the second-largest commercial, driverless car fleet in the Western World. Vay has partnered with Kodiak to integrate remote-driving technology into autonomous trucks in the US and has completed tens of thousands of trips, expanding their Las Vegas fleet to meet demand. The company plans to expand across the US and Europe. This high-impact role is at the intersection of data science, mapping, and real-world mobility systems, focusing on data and algorithms that define how Vay’s vehicles navigate cities safely and efficiently within their Operational Design Domain (ODD). The work will directly enable scaling to new cities, improving routing performance, and solving complex real-world challenges in a rapidly evolving mobility environment.
