About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data & AI team and help power the intelligence behind the world’s largest global marketplace for buying and selling boats. This role blends strong technical expertise with business partnership, allowing you to shape how data drives growth, monetization, and marketplace efficiency. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to translate complex marketplace challenges into scalable machine learning solutions. Your work will directly influence buyer quality, seller success, pricing intelligence, retention, and overall marketplace health. Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience in applied data science or machine learning.
  • Strong hands-on experience building and productionizing machine learning models.
  • A solid foundation in statistical modeling, experimentation, and measuring product impact.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and strong SQL skills for working with large datasets.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Ability to translate business problems into practical, data-driven solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to stakeholders at multiple levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in marketplaces, e-commerce, pricing, growth, or other two-sided platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud data environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work side-by-side with Product and business leaders to shape the roadmap and identify where data can unlock the most value.
  • Break down complex marketplace challenges into actionable models and experiments that drive measurable growth.
  • Build and deploy machine learning models that improve buyer intent identification, pricing intelligence, conversion, retention, and marketplace performance.
  • Design and analyze experiments to measure product and revenue impact.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to productionize models and ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing decision-making across teams.
  • Contribute to best practices in modeling, experimentation, and data-driven product development.
