About The Position

The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for building, testing, and deploying statistical and machine learning models, and conducting data deep dives which drive a better understanding of our customers, products, and operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Science and Engineering, this role will be responsible for devising and building effective and scalable data-driven solutions.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience leading data science projects and driving quantifiable business value.
• Proven track record of integrating AI models into existing business workflows and production software applications.
• Experience identifying business opportunities for AI and ML solutions, scoping and prioritizing projects, and structuring execution strategies.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps/LLMOps frameworks, API integrations, and model monitoring/evaluation in production.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming and modern ML/AI frameworks
• Advanced SQL querying skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Economics, or Business preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, enterprise architects and functional business units to design and execute end-to-end AI integration strategies across business workflows.
• Lead the design, building, fine-tuning, and deployment of data and AI solutions, including statistical models, ML pipelines, Generative AI applications, and advanced statistical analysis.
• Architect and integrate AI models, APIs, and microservices into production environments, ensuring seamless operational performance, security, and scalability.
• Coach junior data scientists on AI engineering, ML integration best practices, and effective data science project delivery.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging machine learning, deep learning, and Generative AI frameworks, identifying novel applications for the business.
• Liaise with Global data science teams to identify opportunities for cross-functional collaboration, code reviews, joint AI initiatives, and the adoption of new technologies.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and governance of the global MLOps and LLMOps platforms in Canada.
