About The Position

Integral Federal is seeking a Senior Data Science Developer to support the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Performance Engineering Analytics (PEA) program. This program aims to help TSA enhance its security measures through advanced technologies, improved passenger identification, and strengthened anti-terrorism capabilities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Currently or recently working as a senior-level developer in similar environments and with similar tools.
  • Experience with on-premises and/or cloud data science and data analytics environments.
  • Experience with Python and R in a data science toolkit or notebook environment.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud products (Glue, Redshift).
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI Report Server or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Development experience with a focus on data manipulation and/or statistics.
  • Experience with data visualizations, reporting systems, and dashboards.
  • Experience with performance troubleshooting of Python and R code in a notebook or data science toolkit environment.
  • Expertise with complex SQL and large datasets, including query troubleshooting and optimization (analyzing optimization plans and debugging stored procedures).
  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
  • Solid troubleshooting aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Resourcefulness and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in TSA mission or DHS environments.
  • Experience working in data science and data analytics environments.
  • Experience working as part of a team in an Agile environment to deliver software and data solutions.
  • Software development in an AWS Cloud environment.
  • Some development experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
  • Experience with Zeppelin notebooks or similar web-based notebook collaboration environments (e.g., JupyterLabs).
  • Master of Science degree.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software, tools, models, and data products in both cloud (AWS) and on-premises data science and data analytics environments using programming languages such as Python, R, Java, and SQL.
  • Design and implement solutions for complex, large dataset problems using modern, leading practices, and innovative techniques.
  • Develop and integrate data science applications, products, and reporting solutions with TSA systems, platforms, and frameworks.
  • Develop creative solutions to data limitations, such as regular purging of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), while maintaining the ability to perform frequency analyses, models, and trend analysis.
  • Test, maintain, and recommend software improvements to ensure fit-for-purpose functionality and optimize best practices.
  • Ideate and identify opportunities to improve system capabilities and performance.
  • Produce documentation for technical specifications, test plans, and software-related work products.
  • Make sound technical decisions to solve business and stakeholder challenges and problems.
  • Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation and/or reports as requested.
