Senior Data Migration and AI Engineer
About The Position
Pyramid Consulting is seeking a Senior Data Migration and AI Engineer for an onsite role in New York, NY. This is a contract opportunity of 6+ months with long-term potential, supporting data engineering, platform migration, and AI-assisted document intelligence for securities-related products. The role involves mapping legacy platforms—including TranStar, AVJ, DSC, and Deal Manager—to Cortex; profiling, reconciling, and remediating data; and defining transformation rules and validation controls. The engineer will also reconstruct issuance and corporate-action history, implement LLM-based extraction from securities documents, assess product compatibility, and lead stakeholder mapping workshops.
Requirements
- 7+ years in data migration, platform modernization, or business systems engineering within client markets, corporate trust, or securities servicing.
- Strong SQL and Python skills, with hands-on experience in large-scale data profiling and reconciliation.
- Proven experience with LLM/GenAI solutions, including prompt engineering and extraction pipelines.
- Knowledge of corporate bonds, standalone debt products, and corporate actions.
- Ability to read and interpret legal and operational securities documentation.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with DTC, Client, FAST, Euroclear, and Clearstream processing.
- Knowledge of MTN programs and EMEA debt products.
- Experience with cloud data platforms, MLOps, and AI governance or model-risk frameworks.
- Experience supporting strategic platform transformation and product onboarding programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead data engineering and migration efforts by building source-to-target mappings between legacy platforms (TranStar, AVJ, DSC, Deal Manager) and Cortex.
- Design and execute data profiling, reconciliation, and quality-remediation pipelines.
- Define transformation rules, derivations, validation controls, and data dictionaries.
- Reconstruct missing issuance and corporate-action history using a comprehensive source waterfall.
- Implement AI-assisted document intelligence, focusing on LLM-based extraction from securities documentation.
- Assess product compatibility with Cortex and identify operational gaps.
- Engage with stakeholders to run data-mapping workshops and drive decision-making.
