About The Position

Fundserv is seeking a Senior Data Engineer responsible for designing and developing database systems, data models, and schemas, as well as building data pipelines to assemble large, complex datasets for analytical purposes. The role involves working within an Agile team and collaborating with other teams to define database requirements and technical specifications. The engineer will develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL scripts, support database design and schema changes, install and maintain Oracle databases, build and support ETL processes, monitor database health, manage security and backups, and create technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of relational database design and logical/physical data modeling.
  • Practical experience using SQL and PL/SQL for database operations, scripting, and automation.
  • Strong working knowledge of relational database platforms, especially Oracle 19c/23ai.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, including Oracle OCI and Azure.
  • Experience with Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX for maintaining, supporting, or developing database-driven applications.
  • Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting and automation.
  • Proven ability to build and optimize data pipelines and workflows using technologies such as Talend, Azure Synapse, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience in automated database deployment experience using Liquibase.

  • AI-assisted database development is a nice-to-have capability that may help streamline development and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an Agile team while collaborating with other teams across product lines to define database requirements and technical specifications.
  • Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL scripts, procedures, packages, and functions.
  • Support database design, schema changes, and data model improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and data integrity.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases and related components.
  • Build and support ETL processes and data pipelines for reporting and downstream integrations.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot Oracle performance issues, and implement tuning improvements.
  • Manage database security, access controls, backup/recovery processes, and deployment support.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and track database development activities.
