As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll lead the design of scalable data solutions, mentor talented engineers, and work on projects that truly make an impact. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building and optimizing data pipelines that power IQVIA’s forecasting and analytics platforms. You’ll work across a global engineering organization, collaborating with product managers, front-end and back-end developers, and fellow data engineers. This role combines hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and coaching junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including at least 2–3 years in a senior-level role.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: Google Cloud and AWS preferred; Azure acceptable.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts; experience with BigQuery or similar technologies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JavaScript (legacy code support).
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or other modern data platforms.
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts and interest in applying them to data engineering.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows for large-scale analytics and audience forecasting.
  • Work across the application stack, focusing primarily on backend data engineering.
  • Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with global engineering pods to maintain consistent coding standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and contractors, fostering technical growth.
  • Partner with product managers and peers to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
