About The Position
Mesh is building infrastructure that enables consumers to pay and be paid with any asset. The Senior Data Engineer will own how data is defined, instrumented, validated, and delivered across the company. The role works hands-on with SQL and Python to support product and client analytics, finance-grade reporting, data integrity, and safe AI-agent access to data. The engineer will help turn operational data into reliable internal and client-facing products, including self-serve reporting, reconciliation, and billing exports.
Requirements
- Expertise in SQL; T-SQL / SQL Server and Spark SQL are a plus.
- Solid Python skills.
- Hands-on experience with product analytics tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar, including event design and funnel/CVR modeling.
- Comfort with experiment design and statistics for A/B test readouts.
- Experience building data quality checks, reconciliations, or backfills on production data.
- Habit of validating numbers against source systems before they are shared.
- Clear writing and communication skills, including the ability to explain data issues to engineers, a CRO, and clients.
- Daily use of AI coding and analysis tools.
- Approximately 3+ years in analytics or data engineering.
- Approximately 5+ years of end-to-end ownership of a data domain.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with T-SQL / SQL Server.
- Experience with Spark SQL.
- Experience with Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar product analytics tools.
Responsibilities
- Define core product and client metrics, maintain central Amplitude data, and create reusable templated charts.
- Build internal and external dashboards for clients and conduct experiment readouts.
- Baseline and evaluate A/B tests involving user-interface variants and algorithms, translating results into product decisions.
- Build apples-to-apples data comparisons between platforms to support migration decisions.
- Run and automate daily reconciliation triage and the verification engine to guard data integrity.
- Define backend event schemas and tracking plans, and normalize fields for analytics.
- Deliver settlement and billing reporting using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including parity validation, alerting, and self-service access for Finance.
- Build skills and tools for the internal data agent, log and audit agent-generated SQL, and maintain accurate self-service data channels.
- Help shape client-facing self-service reporting, reconciliation, and billing exports.
