About The Position

The Senior Data Engineer designs, maintains, and optimizes database schemas and SQL queries to support business needs and improve performance. The role also involves extracting and analyzing data, reporting findings, administering Linux servers, automating routine tasks with scripts, troubleshooting database and Linux-based application issues, and collaborating with developers, data analysts, and IT administrators.

Requirements

Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to create, read, update, and delete data efficiently.
Knowledge of one or more of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience managing relational databases and performing data modeling.
Proficiency with Linux distributions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, or Ubuntu.
Knowledge of system security, permissions, firewall rules, and shell scripting.
Python or Bash scripting skills for automation and data-pipeline integration.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with analytical tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize database schemas using SQL, including table structures and relationships.
Write and improve SQL queries, troubleshoot slow-running queries, and implement indexing strategies.
Extract, analyze, and report data from large datasets using SQL and tools such as Python or Tableau.
Install, configure, and manage Linux servers, including user accounts, file systems, and process monitoring.
Use Bash or Python scripts to automate tasks such as backups, data import and export, and routine maintenance.
Identify and resolve issues involving SQL queries, database interactions, and Linux-based applications.
Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and IT administrators to maintain system integrity and optimize processes.
