About The Position

Qventus is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to pioneer data solutions that support its healthcare products. The Data team provides users with the data needed to build and scale products, including bidirectional integrations with hospital electronic medical record sources, secure HIPAA-compliant transformations, and integration and discovery of third-party datasets. Qventus products include machine-learning-based orchestrations, real-time hospital reporting, analytical insights, and interactive applications intended to improve healthcare operations and patient care. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and management of data assets and pipelines. You will identify and lead initiatives to collect, explore, and model data in partnership with the data modeling lead and integration partners. You will work with solution experts to enhance Qventus’s foundational data model, and partner with cross-functional teams and data users to translate functional needs into data requirements and quality checks.

Requirements

Excellent cross-functional communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical components to technical and non-technical partners.
Strong ability to interpret complex datasets, recognize patterns and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights, with advanced data intuition and analytical skills.
Excellence in designing, developing, and optimizing quality data pipelines to create reliable, modular, and secure data foundations for data delivery across applications, analytics, and machine learning.
Ability to independently manage ambiguous project requirements and lead data initiatives from start to finish while collaborating with cross-functional, non-technical teams to inform and shape product development.

Nice To Haves

Healthcare experience.
Five or more years of experience designing, building, and operating cloud-based, highly available, observable, and scalable data platforms using large, diverse production datasets to meet ambiguous business needs.
Relevant data architecture certifications, such as Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional, AWS Certified Data Engineer or Solutions Architect Professional, SnowPro Advanced Architect/Data Engineer, Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer, or dbt Analytics Engineering.
Experience with MLOps and/or developing and maintaining machine learning models and infrastructure.
Experience with data visualization and analytics technologies such as Sigma, Looker, or Tableau.
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Spearhead the discovery, evaluation, and integration of new datasets, including pipeline development and data modeling and documentation, in partnership with stakeholders to assess their relevance to core products and the healthcare domain.
Manage data assets technically by tracking and maintaining context throughout the dataset lifecycle and partnering closely with ingestion and solution data engineering teams.
Translate product and analytical vision into functional data pipelines and trusted data products, including designing data structures, building and scheduling transformation pipelines, and improving transparency.
Set standards for data engineering practices, guide architectural approaches and pipeline designs, and integrate new technologies to foster innovation and continuous improvement.
Identify, monitor, and lead initiatives to collect, explore, and model data in partnership with the data modeling lead and integration partners.
Partner with solution experts to design and develop strategic enhancements to the foundational data model.
Work with cross-functional partners and data users to translate functional needs into data requirements and quality checks.
