About The Position

Beghou Consulting LLC seeks Senior Data Engineers in Princeton, NJ. This role contributes to the firm’s in-house enterprise data platform (features, bug fixes, documentation, and training) with minimal guidance from senior team members. The engineer will develop an advanced understanding of the firm’s in-house enterprise data platform architecture, databases, schema design, and the cloud. They will implement innovative data engineering-based solutions independently within project scope, apply data engineering knowledge to projects, and share this knowledge with the team. The role involves training individuals or smaller groups on data engineering best practices, communicating data engineering architecture knowledge in client selling situations, and translating client needs into action plans. The Senior Data Engineer will produce data engineering solutions, outline the implementation of the solution framework, lead code reviews, and write well-encapsulated DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself) code. They will engage in implementation and architecture discussions with senior team members to contribute to design ideas and best practices, and prepare presentation materials by synthesizing results and communicating information. The role also includes leading storyboarding presentations, effectively running internal and client team meetings, leading the work of teams, and mentoring junior members by providing guidance, feedback, and encouragement. The position fosters an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment and will serve as a Professional Development Manager. Telecommuting is permitted.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
5 years of related experience
5 years of experience with Python OR PySpark
5 years of experience with Configuring and managing ETL pipelines for diverse datasets
5 years of experience with Making and presenting technical architecture presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences
2 years of experience with AWS and Azure cloud service offerings
2 years of experience with Databricks platform
Authority to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Contributes to the firm’s in-house enterprise data platform (features, bug fixes, documentation, and training) with minimal guidance from senior team members
Documents code and other project components
Develops an advanced understanding of the firm’s in-house enterprise data platform architecture, databases, schema design, and the cloud
Implements innovative data engineering-based solutions independently within project scope
Applies data engineering knowledge to projects and shares with the team
Trains individuals or smaller groups data engineering best practices
Communicates data engineering architecture knowledge in client selling situations
Successfully translates client needs into action plans
Produces data engineering solutions and outlines the implementation of the solution framework
Leads code reviews and writes well-encapsulated DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself) code
Engages in implementation and architecture discussions with senior team members for the purpose of contributing to design ideas and best practices
Prepares presentation materials by synthesizing results and communicating information
Leads storyboarding presentations and effectively runs internal and client team meetings
Leads the work of teams and mentors junior members of the team by providing guidance, feedback, and encouragement to produce quality work
