About The Position

The Senior Data Engineer designs, builds, and optimizes complex data pipelines, platforms, and architectures that support advanced analytics, reporting, and operational systems across the enterprise. The role leads engineering efforts on large-scale projects and works with architects, analysts, data scientists, developers, product stakeholders, and business stakeholders to turn requirements into robust, maintainable data solutions. The position helps ensure data systems are scalable, secure, performant, and aligned with business needs.

The Senior Data Engineer develops and maintains reliable data pipelines and datasets, integrates data from multiple sources, improves data quality and performance, and supports production data processes. The role establishes engineering practices such as version control, CI/CD for data products, data quality checks, documentation standards, and reusable code modules. It also provides technical guidance, code reviews, and problem-solving support to junior engineers.

The role requires participation in a scheduled week-long on-call rotation, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage during assigned weeks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; the minimum requirements also list a bachelor’s degree.
• 10 or more years of experience.
• Hands-on experience developing, testing, and maintaining ETL or ELT pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases, including complex queries and query performance tuning.
• Experience using Python or another programming language for data transformation and automation.
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and data quality validation.
• Experience troubleshooting data pipeline failures, identifying root causes, and supporting production data processes.
• Familiarity with version control, testing practices, and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with data scientists, architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to participate in a scheduled week-long on-call rotation, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage during assigned weeks.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead implementation of advanced data architectures and pipelines that meet enterprise performance, quality, and scalability requirements.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and product stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into robust, maintainable data engineering solutions.
• Develop and enforce engineering best practices, including version control, CI/CD for data products, data quality checks, documentation standards, and reusable code modules.
• Mentor and support junior data engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and problem-solving assistance.
• Develop, test, and maintain reliable ETL or ELT pipelines and datasets that integrate data from multiple sources.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline failures, identify root causes, and support production data processes.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver maintainable data solutions.
• Participate in a scheduled week-long on-call rotation, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage during assigned weeks.
