About The Position

Gainwell Technologies is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to contribute to technology solutions that help healthcare clients improve the health and well-being of the members they serve. The role focuses on developing, supporting, and optimizing complex data engineering solutions and reporting systems in a remote U.S. setting. The position involves coding, testing, debugging, implementing, and documenting complex programs; designing systems to meet business needs; preparing specifications and test plans; analyzing existing systems and task requirements; estimating work; and providing technical guidance. The role also supports production environments, resolves program and data issues, collaborates with clients and management to validate requirements, and may lead technical work, mentor less experienced personnel, conduct quality assurance reviews, and provide technical consulting.

Requirements

At least 9 years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, and data warehousing.
Expertise in modern data solutions.
Strong technical skills in Databricks, Python, SQL, and cloud-based data platforms.
Experience building scalable and reliable data pipelines.
Experience developing and supporting Power BI and Tableau reporting solutions for business intelligence and analytics.
Experience supporting enterprise production environments, including data ingestion, transformation, optimization, and issue resolution.
Strong analytical and leadership skills.
Experience mentoring team members and driving high-quality data engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

Code, test, debug, implement, and document complex programs.
Develop test plans to verify the logic of new or modified programs.
Design systems and programs to meet complex business needs and prepare detailed specifications.
Gather information from existing systems and analyze program and time requirements.
Prepare time estimates and justifications for assigned tasks and provide recommendations to project managers.
Support project personnel in resolving complex program problems.
Work with clients and management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements.
Provide technical advice on complex programming.
Support enterprise production environments, including data ingestion, transformation, optimization, and issue resolution.
Develop and support data engineering solutions and Power BI and Tableau reporting for business intelligence and analytics.
May serve as a technical project lead, provide work guidance to less experienced personnel, and conduct peer reviews.
Provide technical and/or managerial consulting to management and technical staff; may represent the company in presentations or conferences.
