About The Position

This government contract position requires a US Citizen with an Active, Department of War Secret Clearance. Centex Technologies is seeking a strong Senior Data Engineer to support our work with the Air Force. The role involves building the Air Force Data Mesh Environment by combining reliable data engineering with modern application development. The position supports governed discovery, access, and interoperability for distributed data products.

Requirements

• US Citizen
• Active Secret clearance.
• Demonstrated experience spanning both data infrastructure and full stack application development.
• Strong TypeScript, React, Node.js, SQL, warehousing, and orchestration experience.
• Experience with API design, containerization, and engineering quality practices.

Nice To Haves

• Python data tools, stream processing, or event driven architecture.
• Production ML integration, RAG or LLM applications, and MLOps.
• Experience with CUI, NIST controls, STIGs, or DoD authorized environments.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable ETL and ELT pipelines, data models, and orchestration workflows using tools such as Airflow, Dagster, dbt, and Python.
• Develop application features and APIs with TypeScript, React, and Node.js that make governed data usable.
• Apply SQL, warehouse platforms, validation, observability, and automated tests throughout the data lifecycle.
• Work with product, DevOps, infrastructure security, and mission stakeholders to turn requirements into maintainable software.
• Design secure access and handling for sensitive data consistent with project security requirements.
