About The Position

Opening available for Senior Data Engineer, Data Operations at Cotiviti, Inc. in South Jordan, UT. This role involves creating and executing complex SQL queries, demonstrating subject matter expertise in data mapping, programming, and ingestion workflows, as well as data analysis, data mining, and investigation using SQL and/or Oracle. The position requires deploying, configuring, and monitoring production solutions and services, mentoring junior engineers, and serving as a change agent to identify and recommend improvements to business processes. The Senior Data Engineer will also validate new tech requirements, write technical defect requirements, create and update SOPs, train and mentor system analysts, and participate in project meetings contributing to the SDLC. Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex problems, monitoring system functions, performing in-depth research and analysis on client data inquiries using internal data sources, executing implementation functions like testing new file extracts, and providing defect and enhancement support. The role requires providing technical operational expertise to Engineering teams for troubleshooting and building new functionality, leveraging multi-disciplinary knowledge for innovative ideas, and contributing to organizational productivity through project completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related.
• Eight (8) years of experience in data analysis and data pipeline development in the media, retail, healthcare or other payments processing industry(ies).
• Eight (8) years of experience with data aggregation, standardization, linking, quality check mechanisms and reporting.
• Eight (8) years of experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server, Teradata, and Snowflake) and using SQL or other data integration/ETL tools.
• Eight (8) years of experience with programming languages, operating systems, computer hardware platforms.
• Five (5) years of experience working with relational databases and ETL database functions.
• Five (5) years of experience in a data production environment supporting System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
• (Any amount of experience with) Big data technologies including Hadoop and Spark.
• (Any amount of experience with) Ticketing and documentation tools including Jira.
• (Any amount of experience with) Applying best practices in coding including development and deployment.
• (Any amount of experience with) Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
• Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute complex SQL queries.
• Demonstrate subject matter expertise in relation to Data Mapping, Programming, and Ingestion workflows.
• Demonstrate subject matter expertise in relation to data analysis, data mining an investigation using SQL and/or Oracle.
• Deploy, configure, and monitor production solutions and services while mentoring junior-level engineers to do the same.
• Serve as a change agent to identify organizational improvements and make recommendations to improve business processes.
• Validate new tech requirements are properly integrated within existing processes and product functionality.
• Write technical defect requirements, SOP creation and updates.
• Train and mentor new and junior-level system analysts.
• Participate in project meetings contributing to the SDLC.
• Troubleshoot and provide solutions for complex problems.
• Monitor system functions from all points of system including processing, identifying, and assisting in solving processing problems.
• Utilize internal data sources to perform in-depth research and analysis on client data inquiries, execute a varying level of implementation functions such as testing new file extracts, provide defect and enhancement support to development and product teams.
• Provide technical operational expertise when working with Engineering teams to troubleshoot issues or build requirements for new functionality.
• Leverage multi-disciplinary knowledge to develop innovative ideas.
• Contribute to the productivity of the organization through the completion of projects associated with departmental objectives.
