About The Position

ABB is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the start-up and commissioning of power delivery equipment for large-scale data centers. The role owns planning and execution of commissioning for medium- and low-voltage switchgear (AIS and GIS), busway, and related critical power systems, helping hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centers go live safely, on schedule, and according to design. It is a high-visibility position at the intersection of engineering, construction, and operations, contributing to ABB’s Electrification Service Data Center Services COE in the United States. The role reports to the Service Project Management Manager and is remote within the U.S., with preference for candidates in the West Coast or Mountain Region. Travel to project sites is 10–20%. The expected annual base salary is $100,500–$160,800, and the position is eligible for a short-term incentive plan or annual bonus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 7 years managing complex technical projects, including at least 3 years focused on start-up and commissioning of power or MEP systems.
  • Direct experience in data centers, critical facilities, or heavy industrial power distribution environments.
  • Strong understanding of MV/LV electrical power systems, short-circuit and coordination concepts, protective relays, and critical power architectures such as N, N+1, and 2N.
  • Demonstrated experience with commissioning processes (levels 1–5), electrical acceptance testing, and integrated systems testing.
  • Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholders on multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent, and the MS Office suite.
