About The Position

Trissential is hiring a Senior Data and System Analyst to join our client's team and lead deep discovery, analysis, and documentation efforts across critical financial services platforms. This is a highly visible role where you'll connect business processes, data flows, and technology systems to help shape future-state solutions and modernization initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in business systems analysis, technical business analysis, data analysis, or solution discovery
  • Strong financial services experience supporting brokerage cash, deposits, ACH, payments, cards, checks, or money movement functions
  • Demonstrated experience reverse-engineering undocumented systems, processes, and integrations
  • Deep understanding of systems integration concepts and enterprise application ecosystems
  • Experience working with batch files, APIs, messaging platforms, event streams, and data movement processes
  • Strong knowledge of data lineage, data flows, and information lifecycle management
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements documentation in Agile environments
  • Excellent facilitation, interviewing, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in hybrid environments with regular onsite collaboration in Minneapolis
  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Experience with banking and brokerage platforms
  • Experience using Erwin or other enterprise data modeling tools
  • Knowledge of data modeling methodologies and best practices
  • SQL querying and data-profiling experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise modernization, migration, or transformation initiatives
  • Exposure to architecture documentation and solution design efforts
  • Experience working with enterprise data governance and controls
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification

Responsibilities

  • Trace transactions from initiation through internal systems and downstream repositories
  • Reverse-engineer existing business processes, integrations, and workflows to document current-state operations
  • Interview stakeholders across operations, technology, product, vendor, and business functions to uncover processing requirements
  • Observe users, applications, and operational procedures to gain a complete understanding of workflows
  • Identify undocumented dependencies, manual workarounds, inefficiencies, and operational risks
  • Document transaction types, systems of record, ownership structures, and reconciliation processes
  • Analyze data movement across batch processes, APIs, message queues, event streams, and integrated platforms
  • Map data lineage, transformations, data attributes, interfaces, and dependencies across applications
  • Identify data quality concerns, latency issues, control gaps, and data loss risks
  • Develop comprehensive inventories of interfaces, integrations, and source systems
  • Create end-to-end process maps and workflow diagrams
  • Produce system-context diagrams, interface inventories, and data flow documentation
  • Develop current-state assessments and identify opportunities for future-state improvement
  • Consolidate findings into centralized documentation repositories and knowledge assets
  • Deliver actionable insights to product, architecture, and development teams
  • Convert discovery findings into Agile-ready user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Partner with product managers and development teams to refine business and system requirements
  • Support backlog creation, prioritization, and requirements clarification activities
  • Ensure business needs are accurately translated into technical solutions
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions for delivery teams and stakeholders
  • Coordinate analysis activities across multiple analysts and functional domains
  • Lead daily discovery stand-ups and progress reviews
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to validate findings and requirements
  • Build trusted relationships across business and technology organizations
  • Present findings, recommendations, risks, and opportunities to leadership audiences
