About The Position

The Data Analyst supports NextEra Energy's ETRM transformation project by ensuring data quality, accuracy, and integrity throughout the migration from legacy ETRM system to OpenLink Endur. This role requires familiarity with energy trading and risk management systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently to track down data, validate information, and support data governance initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can execute tasks with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. This position implements and maintains on-premises and cloud-based company and product data infrastructure, including relational databases, non-relational databases and any other data stores required by the company or its products. Employees in this role are responsible for creating processes and implementing software to facilitate management of data including, but not limited to, data pipelines, data catalogs and overall data quality.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Execute data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading activities for ETRM migration across IR Swaps, Oil/Fuels, Environmental, Natural Gas, and Power commodities
  • Perform detailed data quality assessments, identify anomalies, and document issues for resolution; create reconciliation reports comparing legacy and target system data
  • Support UAT activities by validating migrated data against business rules and expected outcomes; document test results and track defects to resolution
  • Identify and engage data owners across business units to clarify data definitions, resolve discrepancies, and obtain sign-offs on data migration deliverables
  • Maintain data mapping documents, validation results, issue logs, and governance procedures; contribute to data dictionaries and metadata repositories
  • Work with Trading, Risk, Accounting, and IT teams to understand data requirements and support data-related project activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality processes and contribute ideas for sustainable data governance practices
  • Manage assigned tasks and deliverables with minimal oversight, proactively escalating risks and issues as appropriate

  • Designs, plans, implements and supports data infrastructure using both relational and non-relational data management solutions
  • Tests, validates and maintains data quality across all parts of data infrastructure
  • Maintains and manages data pipelines and data catalogs

  • May perform database administration-related activities
  • Monitors health of data infrastructure
