About The Position

HaloMD specializes in Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) through The No Surprises Act and state regulations for out-of-network healthcare providers, leveraging advanced technology and deep industry expertise to secure optimized reimbursements. We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst, NSA Informal Operations to support Open Negotiation Notice (ONN), Payor Mapping, Payor Responses, and Settlements. This role investigates flagged data and timing discrepancies to establish root cause, builds and maintains dashboards and reports tracking task volume and turnaround, and surfaces trends before they become operational issues. Priorities are set through a shared intake process reflecting impact and urgency across teams, not by a single manager. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical instincts with hands-on reporting skills and is comfortable coordinating with multiple teams and stakeholders to close the loop on what was found.

Requirements

• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas.
• Experience building dashboards or reports in Power BI (or a comparable BI tool).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and anomalies in operational data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize data for non-technical audiences.
• High attention to detail and comfort working with large, sometimes messy datasets.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and coordinating across multiple teams and stakeholders, since priorities are set through a shared intake process rather than a single reporting line.
• 3-5 years of experience in a reporting, business analyst, or operations analyst role, ideally in healthcare, revenue cycle, or claims-adjacent operations.
• Ability to manage multiple recurring reporting deliverables and shifting priorities independently.

Nice To Haves

• Experience writing SQL queries or working in Snowflake (or a similar cloud data warehouse), preferred, to support ad hoc reporting requests.
• Familiarity with the No Surprises Act (NSA), IDR (Independent Dispute Resolution), or healthcare payor/claims operations, preferred.
• Experience working with SharePoint Lists or similar structured tracking tools, preferred.
• Exposure to payor/claims data (e.g., EOBs, claim-level data, payor routing/mapping), preferred.
• Experience monitoring shared mailboxes or inboxes as a data source for operational reporting, preferred.
• Familiarity with claim resubmission or appeal deadlines and the operational risk of issues aging past them, preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required with equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports tracking task volume, aging, throughput, and team capacity across ONN, Payor Mapping, Payor Responses, and Settlements.
• Dig into flagged data and timing discrepancies (e.g., CPT code mismatches, EOB/ingestion date misalignment, missing or duplicated claim data) to establish root cause before a decision can be made.
• Identify the pattern behind recurring issues rather than resolving them one at a time, surfacing emerging trends to team leadership before they become operational risk.
• Support root-cause analysis connecting issue trends back to source systems (Arbit, payor remittance data, shared inbox activity) using historical claims and inbox data.
• Monitor the Payor Mapping inbox and other shared queues to identify incoming volume patterns, payor-specific trends, and recurring issue types.
• Build monitoring tools giving leadership real-time or near-real-time visibility into task volume, queue depth, and staffing utilization.
• Partner with Team Leads and Supervisors to validate that reported data matches on-the-ground operational reality.
• Support capacity planning by modeling projected volume against current throughput and staffing levels.
• Support Settlement Tracker and other data integrity reviews, including surfacing QA flags not currently visible in standard views.
• Communicate findings back to both the ONN/Payor Mapping and Payor Responses/Settlements teams so root cause and resolution are shared rather than siloed.
• Own cross-department escalations end to end, including issues that root-cause into IT, Formal Operations, Client Success, or Shared Services systems, staying on them through to resolution rather than handing them off.
• Increase visibility into issue status and impact so leadership is not manually pulling it together to understand where things stand.
• Work with Team Leads and Directors to prioritize reporting and investigation needs based on impact and urgency.
• Partner with IT/Data teams on data quality, source-of-truth issues, and automation opportunities.
• Support broader NSA/IDR initiatives (e.g., regulatory changes) by modeling anticipated volume or workflow impacts.
• Support the Payor MDM design and build effort as a data quality stakeholder.
• Document reporting logic, data definitions, and dashboard maintenance procedures for team continuity.
