About The Position

CGI is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to support large-scale data initiatives within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for gathering and analyzing business and data requirements, translating them into database and ETL specifications, and ensuring data solutions align with business objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and QA resources throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!. This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, data analysis, or related technology roles, including experience supporting large-scale, complex enterprise projects.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into detailed database, data mapping, and ETL specifications.
  • Experience creating and maintaining source-to-target mapping documentation.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and database querying.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data integration, and ETL processes.
  • Experience documenting business processes, workflows, and functional requirements.
  • Ability to develop, execute, and support testing activities for data loads and data quality validation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including stakeholder interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving data-related issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with testing tools such as HP Quality Center or Mercury Quality Center is preferred.
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale financial services environments is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and AWS environments is beneficial.
  • Financial data domains (loan servicing, risk, compliance, reporting, or capital markets).
  • Data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • AWS data services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Redshift, Athena, or related cloud-based data platforms.
  • Regulatory reporting and audit-ready documentation practices.
  • Enterprise-scale data warehouse and ETL implementations.
