Senior Data Analyst

DrFirst Inc.,
$130,000 - $150,000Remote

About The Position

The Senior Data Analyst will be a key member of the Patient Solutions Data Science team, which finds ways to digest, understand, and analyze the complex data derived from our medication management and secure communications platforms. This data combines provider and patient information, allowing our team to understand both the doctor's intentions and the patient's actions. Since our products intervene at the critical time between when a doctor writes a prescription and when the patient picks it up at the pharmacy, we can uniquely identify and influence patient behavior. This role will work closely with our reporting lead to maintain and grow our AWS QuickSight reporting and monitoring assets — used by internal leadership and commercial teams alike — while also handling ad-hoc analytical requests from internal stakeholders across teams such as product, commercial, and finance. Our ideal candidate drives continuous improvement, brings a strong sense of ownership over the quality of their deliverables, writes efficient and reliable SQL, and is comfortable navigating the AWS analytics stack end to end.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in statistics, math, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience writing efficient, production-quality SQL, including query optimization and performance tuning on large datasets.
  • Hands-on proficiency with AWS analytics services, including Redshift, Athena, and QuickSight; familiarity with the AWS Glue Data Catalog for locating and understanding queryable data.
  • 3+ years of experience with Python (particularly the pandas library) for data analysis and pipeline development.
  • Experience building and maintaining dashboards and recurring reports; QuickSight experience strongly preferred, Tableau/Power BI experience also considered.
  • Comfortable with Excel and working knowledge of probability and statistics.
  • Comfortable using AI coding assistants and LLM tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate SQL/Python development, and applying generative AI to reporting tasks such as text-to-SQL, automated summarization, or narrative generation.
  • Sound judgment for where AI is reliable enough to ship in leadership-facing or Pharma client reporting, and where it isn't — particularly given the sensitivity of healthcare and Pharma client data.
  • Track record of shipping an AI-assisted analytics workflow or tool that other stakeholders actually used, not just prototypes or personal experimentation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical/data concepts to a variety of business stakeholders and senior leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably a background in Healthcare IT, with experience working on Rx data and patient adherence or Pharma program reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our reporting lead to build and maintain AWS QuickSight dashboards tracking product health, KPIs, and growth; support anomaly detection and monthly Pharma program reports.
  • Scope and deliver ad-hoc reports and analyses for internal stakeholders across teams such as product, commercial, and finance.
  • Write efficient, optimized SQL against large datasets in Redshift and Athena.
  • Apply AI across the reporting function — automated narrative summaries, anomaly explanations, and self-serve natural-language query tools — using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to build them efficiently.
  • Build AI directly into our BI product, such as automated written insights layered on top of QuickSight dashboards or a text-to-SQL layer other stakeholders can query directly.
  • Present findings clearly to the reporting lead and broader team, and to internal stakeholders as needed.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, with a base salary of $130,000 - $150,000 (Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience)
  • Eligible for Company Performance-based Bonus Program, based on individual and company performance
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401K eligible after 3 months of employment, with 50% company match up to first 5% of salary contributed to the plan with a 3-year vesting schedule

  • 100% company paid short and long-term disability, AD&D, and group life insurance
  • Accrued annual paid time off (PTO) of 18 days for the first 3 years of service, increasing thereafter and 7 paid holiday days
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Continuing Education funds up to $1500 annually for eligible programs after 1 year of service
