About The Position

Scale Media is seeking a senior, hands-on individual-contributor Data Analyst to own financial data integrity, forecasts, predictive models, and reporting for its direct-to-consumer e-commerce business. The role partners with Finance and company leadership, connecting transaction and payment-processor data to financial plans and ensuring financial metrics are rigorously reconciled and clearly defined. The analyst builds and maintains revenue, order, subscription-renewal, and cash forecasts by brand and channel; creates scenario and sensitivity models; and tracks and improves forecast accuracy. They also develop and monitor customer- and SKU-level predictive models, incorporating model outputs into financial forecasts. The role owns P&L, unit economics, profitability, and budget-versus-actual reporting. It leads reconciliation across payment processors, bank deposits, internal systems, and accounting; investigates discrepancies; and documents shared financial business logic. The analyst prepares financial datasets using dbt or Python, writes SQL in Snowflake, and builds dashboards in Sigma. They present forecasts and model findings to Finance and executives, and review and mentor other analysts on financial data quality and modeling.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of data or financial analytics experience, including meaningful experience in DTC, subscription, or consumer businesses.
  • Hands-on experience building financial forecasts, such as time-series or regression forecasts, and predictive models, such as logistic regression, survival analysis, or gradient boosting, that leadership used to make decisions; both are required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with compiling financial statements and cash flows.
  • Proven DTC e-commerce experience and comfort working with Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, and Stripe data.
  • Expert SQL skills in Snowflake.
  • Strong Python skills, including familiarity with tools such as pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, and Prophet or similar.
  • Proficiency with Sigma, or experience with Tableau, Looker, or Power BI and ability to adapt quickly.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Fluency with Claude Code or comparable AI coding tools for data manipulation and analytics.
  • Awareness of how ELT tools such as Hevo, Fivetran, Airbyte, or Azure function, sufficient to communicate effectively with a Data Engineer.
  • Ability to communicate forecast assumptions, risks, and variance drivers clearly.
  • Precision and patience in tracing transactions through the data lifecycle.
  • The position is a senior, hands-on individual-contributor role, not a people-manager position.
