About The Position

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join their team. This role involves collaborating with business units, leadership, and technology teams to understand functional requirements for application and platform development. The Senior Data Analyst will lead data integration efforts, design and manage cloud resources, and ensure the quality of data workflows. The position offers the opportunity to work with a Fortune 6 organization serving over 85 million people and to contribute to industry-leading initiatives. The role reports to the Raleigh, NC office and may offer telecommuting options.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Data Analyst -related occupation.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Agile development practices and DevOps principles, experience in tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins or Azure Dev Ops.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Data integration, transformation, and optimization using Snowflake.
  • Three (3) years of experience in API development and integration for data exchange.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Azure services and solutions including IaaS and PaaS.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Relational database technologies like SQL Server.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Source control using GitHub.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) concepts and SDLC processes.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Scheduling tools like AirFlow.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate virtually with business units, leadership, and technology teams to understand functional requirements for application and platform development.
  • Lead data integration efforts across multiple internal and external sources, ensuring seamless ingestion and transformation using Snowflake tools and pipelines.
  • Document API requirements, integration specifications, test cases, and test results for robust data exchange.
  • Design, develop, and manage public cloud resources for data ingestion and processing.
  • Provide input on solution designs to maintain consistency and continuity across IT infrastructure.
  • Create reusable queries, integration scripts, and test cases for efficient data validation and analysis.
  • Ensure quality of coded components and data workflows by applying best practices and standards.
  • Comply with and enforce testing standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all integration processes, test results, and logs.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum processes to deliver high-quality software releases through iterative sprints.
  • Communicate project risks and issues to delivery/project managers and contribute to change control processes.
  • Support operational teams during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and rollout phases.
  • Train and mentor junior analysts remotely on data integration, analysis, and testing methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of team standards and best practices while staying current with industry trends.
