About The Position

This role involves designing enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks. The Senior Data Analyst will work with end users and customers to understand system and business issues, perform technical analysis, and develop solutions. Responsibilities include maintaining dashboards and reports, managing user profiles and security, designing and implementing new technology features, ensuring compliance with software development life cycle protocols, and improving the functionality, reliability, and efficiency of databases and data warehouse systems. The position also requires adherence to version control, release management, and deployment protocols, as well as designing and developing reporting for analysis.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Information Studies, Computer Science or related field and three (3) years experience in the job offered or in a Data Analyst-related occupation.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Teradata V16/17.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Teradata Utilities such as TPT, Mload, Fastload, or BTEQ.
  • Three (3) years of experience with ETL using Teradata Utilities in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Teradata SQL Assistant.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Teradata Studio.
  • Three (3) years of experience with SQL Skills including working with joins, indexes, partitions at table level, and performance tuning skillsets.
  • Three (3) years of experience with TASM.
  • Three (3) years of experience with DBA backup / restore functionality / incremental backups.
  • Three (3) years of experience with BI Query or other BI reporting tool along with basic modelling operations and maintenance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Design enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks.
  • Work with end users/customers to understand system and business issues and perform technical analysis to develop solutions.
  • Work with end users/customers to understand and develop requirements.
  • Maintain Dashboards and other basic reports related to data warehouse on a daily basis.
  • Maintain user profiles and security skills that are related to the databases.
  • Design, develop, and modify highly specialized computer applications to drive Optum user efficiency and overall business success.
  • Quickly and effectively design, develop, and implement new technology features that build on existing functionality, including but not limited to integrating with new technology.
  • Ensure compliance with Optum's software development life cycle protocols and ensure project priorities are recorded and satisfied according to those protocols, raising any risk factors to the appropriate Optum project management team.
  • Constantly improve functionality, reliability, testability, availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency of databases and data warehouse systems.
  • Adhere to Optum version control, release management, and deployment protocols to distribute new functionality to the user base.
  • Design and develop reporting as needed to summarize and analyze functionality.
