About The Position

VillageCare is a community-based, not-for-profit organization serving people with chronic care needs, as well as seniors and individuals in need of continuing care and managed care services. Our care is offered through a comprehensive array of community and residential programs, as well as managed care. VillageCare has delivered quality health care services to individuals residing within New York City for over 45 years. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for both internal reports to support operations and external reporting to regulatory agencies including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the New York Department of Health. This role will also work directly with our compliance partners to provide data as needed for complaints and/or requests for information received at VillageCare. The role will provide technical support to ensure accurate and timely reporting. The role will also be responsible for designing infrastructure requirements to support all regulatory and compliance reporting and ensure operational reports are aligned with regulatory definitions. Qualified candidates should have significant health plan experience, experience in regulatory reporting including a thorough understanding of regulatory rules and requirements, and a good understanding of how the various aspects of healthcare work.

Requirements

  • Minimum formal education of a bachelor's degree.
  • 3-6 years health care experience.
  • 4-6 years of analytical experience.
  • 3+ years working leading technical efforts regarding compliance reporting and CMS or DOH Universe creation.
  • Advanced understanding of coding, specifically SQL (5+ years).
  • Advanced experience in Tableau (5+ years).
  • Understanding of regulatory rules and requirements for CMS and NY DOH.
  • Business understanding of health care industry within Managed Care.
  • Ability to utilize data management systems to pull and analyze information to draw conclusions and recommendations.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings both verbally and in written form.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to question the validity and accuracy of data.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and logical skills paired with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and appropriately prioritize.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Consulting experience is a plus.
