About The Position
Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a Cytotechnologist for a per diem role in Boston, Massachusetts within a pathology department. This role involves performing cytology testing and specimen evaluation, working within the pathology and histology department, and supporting diagnostic accuracy through microscopic analysis.
Requirements
- Science-based bachelor’s or associate degree REQUIRED
- Completion of accredited Cytotechnology training program REQUIRED
- CT (ASCP) certification or equivalent REQUIRED within 1 year of hire
- Knowledge of cytotechnology principles and methodology REQUIRED

- Experience preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Perform microscopic evaluation of cytology specimens including Gyn, Nongyn, and FNA samples
- Verify specimen identification and suitability for testing
- Ensure proper accessioning, testing, and data entry
- Interpret clinical data in relation to cytologic findings
- Participate in quality control and improvement initiatives
- Support CAP, CLIA, and JCAHO compliance standards
- Participate in proficiency testing and continuing education programs
- Maintain adherence to infection control and safety procedures
