About The Position

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead software development and compliance activities within its Block Storage portfolio. This role requires strong experience in cybersecurity engineering and software development, and a knowledge of cybersecurity industry standards is preferred. The incumbent will lead cybersecurity activities, develop new product cybersecurity features and capabilities, evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies, and remediate product vulnerabilities, contributing to HPE’s leadership in cybersecurity excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Typically, 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and software development.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity technologies, standards, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, develop, and deploy cybersecurity solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at Management levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Software development background with experience in C or GO or Linux preferred.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity control frameworks and certifications (e.g. NIST SP 800-53, DISA SRG/STIG, Common Criteria) preferred.
  • Knowledge of PQC, EU CRA, FIPS, TLS/SSH, and the various cybersecurity knowledge domains preferred.
  • Active cybersecurity certification (e.g. CISSP, CCSP)

Responsibilities

  • Specify and implement cybersecurity architecture, design, and solutions across Block Storage products.
  • Develop software features and capabilities per business roadmap and product compliance needs.
  • Participate in cybersecurity certification and compliance activities and develop product solutions and remediations to secure those certifications.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new cybersecurity technologies as may be required for technology roadmap and business priority purposes.
  • Help review and influence cybersecurity designs and project activities for compliance with standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members, fostering a culture of cybersecurity innovation, best practices, and professional growth.
  • Provide solutions that enhance defense in depth and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity domain expertise and influence Management decision-making.
