About The Position

This role is in support of the U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier Engineering Team within the Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Maritime organization; supporting mission-critical systems and infrastructure and combining software and hardware knowledge to innovate and optimize performance. You will work alongside interdisciplinary teams to support engineering solutions that serve our national security objectives.

Requirements

  • Possess an active or Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Security, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics with concentration in computer science.
  • 15 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer network security.
  • Experience in supporting U.S. Navy programs or operations.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity/Cyber Defense engineering and management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to all levels of customer and company leadership including the ability to brief technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Capable of effectively working and problem solving in both independent and team environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • 20 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Cyber Defense engineering, and management.
  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE).
  • Compliant with applicable information assurance certification requirements in accordance with DFARS 252.239-7001 and Navy Cyber Workforce (CWF) Program - CWF Model Cyberspace Enablers: Acquisition (801) Program Manager (Basic) or (803) Product Support Manager (Basic).

Responsibilities

  • Review testing and validation to ensure system functionality and compliance with security standards.
  • Developing technical documentation including schematics, specifications, and system architecture diagrams.
  • Participating in engineering reviews, audits, and program milestone meetings.
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Assisting PARMs in getting ATO for aircraft carriers systems.
  • Working with relevant stakeholders concerning Cybersecurity of Aircraft Carrier systems.
  • Providing technical support in system engineering design, network architecture and system security development to support platform-based network integration, information technology and communications for cybersecurity in accordance with NIST Framework, JCIDS System Survivability, DoD 8500 series, DoD Cybersecurity Test & Evaluation (T&E), Cyber Threat Intelligence, Navy Cybersafe, Navy Information Assurance /Technical Authority Board standards and NAVSEA Enclave policy.
  • Supporting efforts in cybersecurity for the definition of system security requirements, risk assessments, systems analysis, systems design, cybersecurity T&E, assessment and authorization.
  • Providing cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF) support.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert in the validation of the implementation of cybersecurity requirements for device, sub-system, system, enclave and platform.
  • Recommending systems hardening solutions to increase operational survivability and resilience to operational risk to the mission for device, sub-system, system, enclave and platform.
  • Providing engineering recommendations and support the integration of T&E into the identification and development of device, sub-system, system, enclave and platform level cybersecurity specification and requirements for implementation into the ship design.
  • Supporting the phasing and fielding of cybersecurity solutions for existing systems and future needs through planned integration of the necessary cyber related architectural features and tools to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the systems, networks platform mission and operation.
