Senior Cybersecurity Engineer
About The Position
The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer designs, implements, and supports enterprise Identity Security solutions across a complex healthcare environment. The role centers on secure identity lifecycle management, authentication, authorization, access governance, compliance, and integration of enterprise and clinical applications. The engineer works extensively with SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC), Okta, Microsoft Active Directory (AD), and Microsoft Entra ID, supporting cloud services and healthcare applications. This is a senior, hands-on role requiring end-to-end understanding of Identity Security, from identity lifecycle and authentication through access governance and compliance. The engineer translates security requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable technical solutions and provides technical leadership, engineering standards, design reviews, and mentoring. This is a remote position with occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings. Employees working from home or a hybrid home/office arrangement must have internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds and a dedicated workspace that protects member PHI and HIPAA information. The scheduled workweek is 40 hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong experience in Identity Security, IAM, or cybersecurity engineering.
- Hands-on experience with SailPoint ISC, Okta, Active Directory, and/or Entra ID.
- Strong knowledge of identity lifecycle management, access governance, RBAC, SSO, MFA, and federation.
- Experience with SAML, OAuth/OIDC, SCIM, APIs, and directory technologies.
- Experience integrating applications into enterprise Identity Security ecosystems.
- Strong automation, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Healthcare or other highly regulated industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience securing clinical and healthcare applications is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and support Identity Security solutions using SailPoint ISC, Okta, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
- Design and implement JML, provisioning and deprovisioning, access certification, RBAC, SSO, MFA, federation, and entitlement governance capabilities.
- Integrate enterprise and clinical applications using SAML, OAuth/OIDC, SCIM, and REST APIs.
- Apply least-privilege and Zero Trust principles across workforce, partner, vendor, and application identities.
- Automate identity processes to improve the reliability, scalability, and auditability of access controls.
- Troubleshoot complex provisioning, directory, authentication, and access issues across interconnected platforms.
- Partner with application, clinical technology, architecture, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to establish secure identity patterns.
- Support regulatory and audit requirements, including controls associated with HIPAA and the protection of sensitive healthcare information.
- Provide senior-level technical leadership, engineering standards, design reviews, and mentoring.
