About The Position

MedPro Group, an industry-leading Berkshire Hathaway insurance company, is seeking a highly accountable and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Analyst. This role serves as a senior-level technical leader within the cybersecurity team, responsible for daily analysis and response to cybersecurity alerts, notifications, and enterprise inquiries. The position supports incident response, vulnerability remediation, problem-solving, and cybersecurity projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will be adept at leading high-stakes security investigations, identifying security gaps, and proactively engaging cross-functional teams, technology owners, and management to drive issues to resolution. This individual must demonstrate strong ownership, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through on commitments.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity attack and defense methodologies, security operations, incident response, and threat investigation practices.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity hygiene, risk-based decision-making, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex or high-stakes security investigations and coordinating actions across multiple technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to recognize security gaps or emerging risks, define the problem, identify the right owners, and independently drive issues toward resolution.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and follow-through, with pride in producing complete, accurate, and high-quality work.
  • Experience using SIEM platforms and structured query languages to build dashboards and queries for investigations, trending, detection, and alerting.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise security tools used for monitoring, investigation, response, vulnerability management, endpoint security, and related operational workflows.
  • Ability and willingness to learn, evaluate, and adapt to new technologies, threats, and security practices.
  • Good understanding of corporate IT technologies, including Microsoft server and workstation operating systems, mobile devices, storage technologies, networking, and network security concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively across functional teams, build productive relationships, communicate risk clearly, and engage management when escalation or sponsorship is needed.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions within established authority, and provide timely updates on issues, risks, and progress.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting and independent research skills.
  • Strong customer service, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • An IT-related associate's degree.
  • CISSP or another relevant cybersecurity industry certification.
  • Splunk experience.
  • AI security experience, including security considerations for AI-enabled systems or monitoring and detection of AI.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze system alerts, determine risk and business impact, and take appropriate action.
  • Lead or serve as a senior escalation point for high-stakes security investigations, coordinating containment, remediation, recovery, and stakeholder communication.
  • Work closely with the Threat Detection and Response team to assess and enhance alert logic, validate detections, and triage alerts.
  • Analyze phishing alerts, suspected malware, and other security inquiries reported by end users.
  • Proactively identify security gaps, control weaknesses, or recurring operational issues and take ownership of engaging appropriate teams to drive corrective action.
  • Build trusted working relationships across technical and business teams, clearly communicate risk, and influence timely remediation.
  • Review industry news and threat intelligence and work with technology owners to ensure appropriate action is taken to reduce risk and strengthen defenses.
  • Provide senior-level technical guidance, share knowledge, and help improve cybersecurity processes, playbooks, documentation, and team readiness.
  • Educate end users on appropriate security hygiene and awareness.
  • Lead or support the execution and completion of cybersecurity projects and initiatives, including the evaluation and adoption of new security technologies.
  • Assist with external and internal audit control compliance and responses to due diligence inquiries.
  • Maintain clear investigation notes, decisions, evidence, and status updates, ensuring assigned work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the team.
