About The Position

Lightsource bp is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to help protect our growing global portfolio of renewable energy assets. This role will focus on strengthening cyber security across both enterprise IT and operational technology (OT) environments, including solar infrastructure and industrial control systems. You will play a key role in monitoring cyber risk, identifying vulnerabilities, supporting incident response activities, and ensuring compliance with global cyber security standards. This position works closely with infrastructure teams, asset managers, and operational stakeholders to strengthen security across Lightsource bp’s renewable energy operations. This role focuses on monitoring cyber risk, strengthening security controls, and improving cyber maturity across corporate and operational technology environments.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of cyber security controls across IT infrastructure and OT environments.
  • Experience implementing or working with cyber security frameworks such as NERC CIP, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, or IEC 62443.
  • Experience with vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response practices.
  • Knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and security monitoring platforms.
  • Ability to evaluate internal controls and support security compliance processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of cyber security experience, ideally supporting enterprise and operational technology environments.
  • Experience managing cyber risk, assessing vulnerabilities, and implementing security controls.
  • Experience working with security technologies such as firewalls, detection tools, encryption, and network segmentation.
  • Experience applying standard‑based security frameworks and supporting cyber security compliance programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred certifications may include CISSP, CISM, CCP, CIPP/E, CIPM, or NIST Cybersecurity Framework Practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor cyber security across both IT and OT environments, including industrial control systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Identify threats, anomalies, and vulnerabilities across networks and systems and support remediation efforts.
  • Conduct threat hunting and incident response activities using security monitoring and intelligence tools.
  • Support compliance with cyber security frameworks and regulatory standards.
  • Assist with cyber security audits, risk assessments, and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop and support security policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including infrastructure teams, asset managers, and operations teams to reduce cyber risk.
  • Support security awareness initiatives and training programs to strengthen cyber security culture across the organization.
  • Contribute to improving cyber security maturity and best practices across enterprise and operational environments.
  • Act as a cyber security subject matter expert for operational technology environments.
