About The Position

As a Senior Network Security Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation, maintenance, and support of critical network and security infrastructure services across RBC and its subsidiaries global environments. These include the Intranet (Core, LAN/WAN, Server Farm), Internet (Surfing, E-commerce), and Extranet ecosystems. As a key member of the Infrastructure Security team, you will manage and support a range of security appliances and technologies, such as Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco IPS, Malware Prevention, and Web Application Firewalls, while also supporting additional tools that safeguard RBC and its subsidiaries. Your primary responsibilities will include providing advanced technical expertise to troubleshoot complex issues, implement configuration changes, and ensure the seamless operation of security systems across various vendor platforms. You will collaborate closely with clients, business partners, escalation teams (implementation/engineering), and vendors to resolve incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and deliver infrastructure changes across RBC’s global enterprise, spanning North and South America, Caribbean, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. This role demands a high level of organizational and technical proficiency to protect and enhance RBC’s security posture in a dynamic and evolving threat landscape.

Requirements

  • Certification in at least one of the firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Cisco ASA) and expert working experience working with the following network and security appliances/vendors: Palo Alto, FireEye, Arbor, Algosec, Cisco Firepower, Cisco IOS & NX-OS based routers & switches
  • Extensive experience with building and troubleshooting network security appliances
  • Solid understanding and troubleshooting capability of L2/L3 protocols (ARP, HSRP, VRRP, STP, BGP, VRF, OSPF) in a Cisco environment
  • Solid understanding Knowledge of security concepts such as NAT/PAT, IPSEC, SSL, DDoS, IP Spoofing etc.
  • Excellent understanding of the OSI model, application protocols such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, TCP/IP, including packet inspection/protocol analysis using packet analyzers for troubleshooting
  • Solid communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications like CISSP, CISM, Palo Alto and Cloud are considered an asset
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, DevOps and Cloud practices

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day Level 2 Support for cyber and network security infrastructure (firewalls, intrusion/malware prevention, web application firewalls (WAF), cloud security) globally
  • Responsible for deployment and life cycle maintenance of technologies such as Palo Alto, Checkpoint Citrix NetScaler, Cisco ASA, Ivanti, Arbor and Akamai WAF
  • Responding to network security events and incident escalations from the first-level support Service Desk, internal/external clients and business partners
  • Work closely with DevOps/Automation teams to identify opportunities for automation, provide technical requirements and validate functionality before production
  • Creating/updating support documentation and diagrams
  • Leading medium to large initiatives related to Network Security platforms and associated key controls
  • Effectively communicate project updates to the project manager and leadership team to ensure alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Participating in presentations with management on gap analysis, solutions, business proposals, etc.
  • Leveraging instrumentation and automation tools to enhance operations
  • Participate in 24 x 7 on-call rotational shifts including evenings and nights
  • Participating in meetings and training sessions to review and understand new technology and service deployments
