About The Position

AtkinsRealis Nuclear is seeking a Senior Cyber Security and Software Qualification Specialist to join the DNNP smart modular reactor team. The candidate is required to support and perform necessary assessments, identifications, guidance, and coordination with multiple disciplines and vendors related to software qualification and cyber security product control requirements.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Automation, Software) from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years relevant work experience in Nuclear industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and related applications of CSA N290.7 (Cyber security for Nuclear facilities).
  • Extensive knowledge and related applications of CSA N290.14 (Qualification of digital hardware and software for use in instrumentation and control applications for nuclear power plants).
  • Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Demonstrates analytical ability and effective decision making.
  • Situational awareness and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent Inter-personal and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performing the suitability assessment and software qualification of system hardware and pre-developed software components.
  • Coordinate between internal and external parties to ensure software qualification and cyber security elements of procured equipment meets project specifications and requirements.
  • Review software qualification to ensure it meets project requirements.
  • Prepare cyber security assessments for systems and components as well as review of cyber security assessments prepared by vendors.
  • Performing the cyber security significance identification, susceptibility levels and product controls requirements for system hardware and pre-developed software components.
  • Supporting the selection and qualification of mechanical vendor packages and Control Systems hardware from a software and cyber security point of view.
  • Assist on preparing validation tests and/or review the results of the validation testing.
  • Support change control activities using configuration management to maintain software files, release and documentation.
  • Preparing and maintaining work plans for the control software change activities.
  • Integrating software and hardware components and preparing software engineering documents such as test procedures, test reports, operation manuals etc.
  • Support OPEX Review - Assembling OPEX and assessing what changes should be incorporated in the future designs.
  • Report and suggest resolution to any potential impacts to technical quality identified by the various Computer System manufacturers and vendors.
  • Ensure all work activities are performed safely, in collaboration with the Project Safety Manager.
