About The Position

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst for a remote opportunity for candidates working EST hours. Candidate will serve as a senior cybersecurity professional focused on penetration testing, security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat hunting across enterprise systems. The role combines hands-on technical testing with security investigation, risk analysis, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement of security practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant technical experience in cybersecurity or a related discipline.
Contract C2 eligibility/clearance is required.
Hands-on experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, security testing, or threat hunting.
Strong Linux experience and proficiency with security tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, and Nessus.
Ability to manually validate vulnerabilities, conduct exploitation testing, distinguish false positives, and evaluate real-world security risk.
Strong understanding of network and system security, incident response, intrusion detection, log analysis, and security risk management.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to clearly document technical findings and communicate security risks and remediation recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting incident response in a medium- to large-scale enterprise.
Experience interpreting and applying cyber threat intelligence.
CISA, CISM, or CISSP certification.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and advanced security evaluations across applications, systems, networks, and infrastructure.
Perform hands-on testing and exploitation to validate vulnerabilities, assess attack paths, and determine potential business impact.
Conduct threat hunting and investigate escalated security events, suspicious activity, and potential incidents.
Research emerging threats and attack techniques while helping tune security tools to improve detection and containment capabilities.
Provide technical guidance and actionable remediation recommendations to security teams, stakeholders, and management.
Evaluate and improve security assessment methodologies, tools, processes, and enterprise security solutions.
