About The Position

A Senior CT Technologist is an Expert Technologist with the ability to perform quality CT exams in a safe and timely manner, while providing excellent patient care. May serve as a Preceptor to other staff members. May act as Lead when Lead CT Technologist is out. Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • Direct - 6 years of experience
  • Radiologic Technologist License - Arkansas Department of Health

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Direct - Pediatric Required Certifications
  • ARRT - Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board

Responsibilities

  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • Is an expert, and may serve as a Preceptor to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
  • Is an expert in, and may serve as a Preceptor in the adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA.
  • Is an expert, and may serve as a Preceptor in the proper administration of IV and oral contrast.
  • May serve as a Preceptor in the explanation of exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • Is an expert, and may serve as a Preceptor in utilization of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
  • Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities. Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
