About The Position

JLL is seeking a Senior Critical Facilities Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for the delivery of best-practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including UPS, MV electrical systems, generators, and cooling systems. The engineer will maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance for continuous operation of building systems to ensure 100% uptime. This includes fire/life safety, mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, CRAC, CRAH, plumbing, controls), electrical systems (emergency backup, lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, transformers), and hot water systems. The role involves analyzing system operations, troubleshooting malfunctions, managing hazardous materials, and maintaining a clean and safe workplace. Additionally, the engineer will learn the data center site to manage incidents, handle work orders (CMMS, Vendor Management, Customer Facing Tickets), and comply with emergency escalation procedures.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience working in a data center.
  • Experience with mechanical systems such as (HVAC, chillers, crac, crah, plumbing, controls).
  • Experience with electrical systems including emergency backup systems such as (lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, transformers).
  • Experience with hot water systems.
  • Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite and CMMS.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive maintenance for continuous operation of all building systems to maintain 100% Up-time.
  • Monitoring operation, adjusting, and maintaining refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and water heaters; pumps, valves, piping, and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Recording readings and making adjustments as necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Analyzing the operation of various systems, determining the cause of any problems/malfunctions and taking corrective action as required.
  • Complying with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
  • Learning and understanding the data center site to manage incidents and events that put the critical systems at risk.
  • Work order management, including CMMS, Vendor Management, and Customer Facing Tickets.
  • Understanding and complying with emergency escalation procedures.
  • Performing additional job duties as required.
