About The Position

This position is responsible for the identification and triage of events affecting HCSC to reduce the business impact and facilitate the appropriate response. Crisis Management coordinates activities across the enterprise to engage appropriate parties in response to a business interruption or anticipated business interruption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree and 8 years experience in crisis management, emergency management, disaster recovery planning, or business continuity OR Master’s degree and 5 years experience.
  • Ability to be on call to support off-hours emergencies.
  • Available to be on call 24/7 on a rotating basis.
  • Knowledge of crisis management, business continuity/disaster recovery planning methods.
  • Experience in managing significant, multi-state disruptive incidents.
  • Work management skills, including prioritizing, planning, and making progress on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to lead group discussions
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a track record of fostering strong, collaborative partnerships across diverse teams
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, enabling consistent delivery of key deliverables in fast-paced environments

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Graduate degree in emergency management, business resiliency, business administration, or information technology
  • Professional Designation – Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP, CCMC, etc.) preferred
  • Prior crisis management and/or business continuity experience at a large organization or consulting experience.
  • Previous experience in health insurance industry
  • Experience with Everbridge suite

Responsibilities

  • Serving as Crisis Management Duty Officer acting as the primary point of contact for crisis notifications and incident escalation.
  • Monitoring of macro, operational, employee, and other types of business risks and determining potential impact to HCSC.
  • Activation of crisis teams and facilitation of discussions.
  • Management of employee mass notification.
  • Conducting crisis management exercises and administration of training for stakeholders.
  • Preparation of reports, incident briefings, risk assessments, and dashboards for review by senior leadership/ board of directors.
  • Develop and maintain software tools for Crisis Management utilization. Serve as lead change control for software products; track and implement approved changes. Recommend technical developments to management and resolve technical and/or business issues.
  • Design and generate management reports, including zip codes impacted by severe storms/flooding; Provide first and second level technical support for staff and other end users.
  • Maintain documentation library in Sharepoint for changes, enhancements and upgrades.
  • Design and deliver training and guidance on CM systems to others in the enterprise as required.
  • Coach users and support tool and data utilization in CM activities, such as CM planning, reporting, and exercises.
