The City and County of Denver's District Attorney's Office is seeking a Senior Criminal Investigator. The mission of the office is to professionally and competently prosecute crimes and investigate criminal activity on behalf of the people of the State of Colorado, seeking equal justice for all. This includes crime prevention, victim support, community participation, transparency, accountability, and improving the criminal justice system with fair alternatives to incarceration. The Senior Criminal Investigator will be responsible for the proper investigation of assigned cases, interviewing complainants, victims, and witnesses, keeping supervisors informed of case progress, preparing exhibits for trial, locating witnesses, serving subpoenas, providing logistical support, ensuring the safety of victims and witnesses, assisting prosecutors, and presenting evidence in court. The role also involves making requests for physical evidence examination, conducting property viewings, and directing efforts in crime prevention and suppression while maintaining confidentiality. Investigators work under the direct supervision of a case supervisor and the general direction of their respective team's Chief Deputy District Attorney and Senior Deputy District Attorney, with potential for independent case supervision by the assigned prosecutor. Work assignments require extensive independent judgment and planning.
