About The Position

As a Senior Credit Officer, you will be responsible for approving, administering, and reviewing loans and loan commitments to ensure adherence to existing policy guidelines and adequate documentation for collateral security, acting as a "first line of defense" within the Bank’s Credit Risk Management framework. You will oversee primary credit portfolio management and reporting activities in line with the Bank’s policies and procedures. A key responsibility is to build relationships with account officers by assisting in analyzing, underwriting, and managing credits, as well as supporting the Credit Administration team by expediting their prescreening, underwriting, and approval process. You will support the Chief Credit Officer by reviewing large and complex loans before submission and communicate with the CCO on deal pipeline, portfolio issues, and other material matters. You will consistently apply sound decision-making techniques for inquiries, approvals, and requests within assigned approval limits, using these instances for employee development. You will assist in reviewing and updating credit policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all Bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal banking regulations. You will review legal documents for accuracy and consistency with approved terms and conditions, perform periodic assessments of concentration limits and risks, and conduct periodic local economic analysis. You will assist with the preparation and review of quarterly portfolio reviews, oversee the loan grading process, and assist in workout credits, preparing LAPSR’s for criticized loans and monitoring reports for Watch credits. You will also assist Loan Officers in managing weak credits and perform post-mortems on charged-off loans. Additionally, you will update and correspond with legal counsel and collectors on workouts, bankruptcies, and charge-offs, and work directly with the Bank’s overall Portfolio Credit Risk Management function, providing data inputs, quality control, feedback, dashboard reporting, and executing corporate efforts related to Credit Portfolio Stress Testing, Dual Risk Rating procedures, concentration management, and related processes. You will lead and develop a team, responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training, and development.
