About The Position

The Senior Course Coordinator - Rhetoric position, within the OnRamps department, is responsible for supporting the implementation of the OnRamps Rhetoric 306 and 309J courses. This role ensures a high level of instructional and professional development service and support for OnRamps Instructors, other UT Sponsoring Departments, and UT Faculty. The position involves providing 1:1 instructional, professional development, and technical support to instructors to ensure fidelity of implementation and teacher growth. It also includes developing and implementing annual professional learning institutes, cultivating a network of instructors through ongoing professional development, and monitoring curriculum implementation for fidelity to college-aligned content. The coordinator will also ensure the approved grading mechanism is executed with fidelity, utilize data to inform professional learning and support, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Master's degree in Rhetoric or English Language Arts, or closely related field and meets the Instructor of Record requirements for Rhetoric.
Five years teaching experience at a high school or college level.
Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS.
Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact.
Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client-focused approach.
Demonstrated understanding of High School teaching and learning in Rhetoric or English Language Arts courses.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

Doctoral degree in Rhetoric or English Language Arts, or closely related field.
Two years teaching experience in Rhetoric or English Language Arts or closely related content area at a high school level.
Experience developing and delivering professional-development initiatives for high school teachers.
Experience developing and maintaining online professional learning communities for students and/or teachers.
Experience developing curriculum, preferably for online delivery.

Responsibilities

Provides 1:1 instructional, professional development, and technical service and support to OnRamps Instructors to ensure fidelity of implementation, teacher growth, retention, and satisfaction in the OnRamps Four Pillars.
Develops and implements annual professional learning institutes during Summer, Fall, and Spring for Onramps instructors in close collaboration with the Course Leads, OnRamps Assistant Director, and Professional Learning and Development team.
Cultivates and leads a facilitated network of Onramps Instructors within the assigned course subject-area through yearlong, ongoing professional development activities by maintaining weekly Newsletters, monthly virtual conferences, and virtual or in-person site visits as needed.
Develops and oversees the systems to monitor curriculum implementation to ensure fidelity to the pillar of college-aligned content.
Ensures the grading mechanism approved by the Instructor of Record is executed with fidelity, including grading and/or supervising grading of college credit assignments, calibration, quality assurance protocols, and other intensive assessment activities.
Utilizes data that illuminates student learning and engagement which could include course engagement, college submissions, and learning outcomes.
Communicates and collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align work and collectively serve the OnRamps mission.
Supports and engages in designated special projects as assigned that support the mission and strategic direction of OnRamps as an organization.
