About The Position

Tyson & Mendes is seeking an accomplished insurance defense litigator with 8+ years of experience to join their growing Denver team. This role offers more leadership, sophisticated work, greater autonomy, and a rapid pathway toward partnership. The Denver office provides the feel of a boutique practice with the operational strength, resources, technology, and infrastructure of a national litigation firm. The position reports to a Regional Managing Partner who focuses on mentoring rather than micromanaging. The firm handles high-value litigation where strategy is paramount, utilizing methodologies like APEX and Trial Academy to defend significant cases and advise clients on complex risks. Tyson & Mendes invests in technology, including AI-enabled legal resources and modern case-management systems, to support attorneys. This Senior Counsel position is viewed as an opportunity for future leadership within the firm.

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA approved school
  • Must be licensed in your state
  • Insurance defense experience
  • 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with litigation support, deposition and trial preparation
  • Ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
  • Experience handling insurance defense matters preferred
  • Experience with time management systems
  • Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Active Colorado Bar license
