About The Position

Cityblock is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership to senior leadership teams as the organization advances its mission to deliver innovative, value-based healthcare to underserved populations. The role is suited to a seasoned healthcare attorney who can work with significant autonomy, proactively identify and resolve complex legal challenges, and advise senior and executive leadership on matters critical to growth, risk management, and impact across multiple states.

Requirements

J.D. degree and active bar admission.
7+ years of transactional or regulatory experience in healthcare, either in-house at a healthcare company or at a law firm with a healthcare practice.
Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks, including Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and state licensure.
Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple contract negotiations and provider agreements in parallel.
Prior experience in an externally facing role.
Commitment to radical candor and comfort working in an ambiguous, high-growth environment.
Exceptional management, mentorship, and communication skills that foster an environment where issues are surfaced and resolved.

Responsibilities

Partner with Cityblock’s senior leadership teams to achieve the organization’s top-level goals.
Proactively identify issues within the area of responsibility and adjacent functions, and drive them to effective, high-impact solutions.
Manage large-scale deliverables with minimal oversight.
Support multiple functional areas.
Engage with external vendors and clients as needed.
Advise the executive leadership team and Board as needed.
