Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with a state bar association.
  • 7+ year(s) of experience in commercial retail leasing and acquisitions, preferably from a law firm or in-house legal position.
  • Deep legal expertise in commercial real estate.
  • Proficient in reviewing, analyzing, and devising creative solutions to title, survey, and construction issues.
  • Ability to manage legal risk with sound judgment to advance business objectives.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead real estate transactions from Letter of Intent (LOI) to store opening independently, including drafting, negotiating, and analyzing ground leases, purchase contracts, and other ancillary legal documents.
  • Review, analyze, and devise creative solutions to title, survey, and construction issues while managing legal risk with sound judgment to advance business objectives.
  • Forge trusted partnerships with business leaders to provide strategic legal advice and influence business decisions related to new store development.
  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of attorneys, paralegals, and other real estate legal professionals, fostering a team-first culture.
  • Think strategically to anticipate future business needs, including developing new practices, leading change efforts, and adopting new technologies to unlock efficiency.
