Senior Counsel (Landlord/Tenant - Remote)

Tyson & Mendes LLPNorthern California, CA, CA
$160,000 - $190,000Remote

About The Position

Tyson & Mendes is seeking an experienced attorney with a strong background in landlord tenant and habitability litigation to join their growing Northern California team. This role offers meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to develop as a trial lawyer. The position is based out of their Novato office but handles matters throughout Northern California and the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The firm is looking for an attorney who enjoys the strategy behind complex cases and wants an environment where their experience and initiative are valued. As Senior Counsel, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of cases and client relationships, develop strategy, manage discovery, handle substantive motion practice, take and defend depositions, work with experts, evaluate exposure, prepare matters for mediation and trial, and guide cases toward resolution. The ideal candidate will be comfortable being the person clients and colleagues can rely on to keep a matter moving. The firm is particularly interested in attorneys who have handled matters involving habitability, premises liability, property related disputes, and other landlord tenant claims. This is a true litigation practice with opportunities for attorneys who want to strengthen their courtroom experience. The Northern California team includes accomplished trial attorneys who foster a collaborative environment where ideas, resources, and experience are shared. Leaders are busy practicing attorneys who are responsive and available when input is sought, but they do not micromanage experienced lawyers. Tyson & Mendes operates as a meritocracy, where career growth is driven by performance, initiative, contribution, and leadership. The firm offers flexibility in how attorneys work, with remote, hybrid, or onsite options available. Attorneys who consistently come in at least twice a week can establish a permanent office space. The team also comes together through monthly meetings, social events, and informal opportunities to connect. Attorneys will have access to experienced administrative, legal assistant, paralegal, and trial support resources.
