About The Position

The MMS Legal Department is seeking Senior Counsel, Regulatory Compliance to join its Technology, Risk & People (TRP) pillar. This role is critical to MMS’s transition to a standalone company. The TRP team provides practical, business-oriented legal support across operations, technology, data, compliance, and risk-related matters, helping the business achieve its objectives while appropriately managing legal and regulatory risk. The role reports to the Managing Principal Counsel, Technology, Risk & People. This role will provide day-to-day legal support on healthcare regulatory and compliance matters, including support for regulatory risk assessments, policy development, investigations, compliance monitoring, training, and enterprise risk management initiatives. The successful candidate will partner closely with Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and business stakeholders to identify legal and regulatory risks, develop practical solutions, and support informed business decision-making. The ideal candidate exercises sound judgment, communicates effectively with both legal and business audiences, and thrives in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities. Requirements

JD from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar membership.
7-10 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, government agency, and/or in-house legal department.
Experience advising on healthcare regulatory, compliance, risk management, or related legal matters.
Experience with healthcare regulatory compliance counseling
Experience with compliance program development and support
Experience with regulatory risk assessment and mitigation
Experience with policy and procedure development
Experience with internal investigations, audits, monitoring, or corrective action initiatives
Experience with cross-functional counseling in a highly regulated industry
Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
Foundational knowledge of regulations applicable to medical devices, controlled substances, and related healthcare products and services.
Familiarity with enterprise risk management principles and processes.
Strong drafting, issue-spotting, and legal analysis skills
Strong research and problem-solving skills.
Ability to provide clear, practical legal guidance
Proven ability to adapt to evolving business needs and operate effectively in ambiguous situations
Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice To Haves

Experience in the healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare technology, or healthcare distribution industries.
Experience supporting compliance programs involving FDA-regulated products, controlled substance compliance, quality systems, or related healthcare regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

Provide practical, risk-based legal advice on healthcare regulatory and compliance matters, including regulations applicable to medical devices, controlled substances, healthcare operations, and related business activities.
Partner with Compliance and business teams to identify, assess, and help mitigate regulatory and compliance risks.
Support regulatory risk assessments, audits, investigations, monitoring activities, and corrective action initiatives.
Draft and review policies, procedures, training materials, compliance guidance, and other regulatory-related documents.
Partner with Legal, Compliance, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, and business stakeholders to proactively identify regulatory risks and develop practical, business-oriented solutions.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate evolving requirements into actionable guidance for business and functional teams.
Manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
