About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a large-scale, multi-site data center construction program. Based in the Denver, CO area and working closely with the client's program leadership team, this role will act as a key client interface, providing cost management, commercial oversight, and quantity surveying services across major mission-critical construction projects throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will have strong construction cost management experience, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to operate in a client-facing environment while supporting complex capital projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Cost Management, or a related construction discipline.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in construction cost management, quantity surveying, commercial management, or related roles.
  • Experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects; mission-critical, industrial, advanced technology, or data center experience is highly desirable.
  • Construction consultancy experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of estimating, cost planning, change management, procurement strategies, and value engineering.
  • Experience reviewing contractor pricing, negotiating changes, and managing project financial performance.
  • Ability to work from the Denver area and travel to project sites across the United States as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain project estimates, cost plans, and budgets throughout design and construction.
  • Review, evaluate, and negotiate change orders and contractor pricing.
  • Support design reviews and provide cost input during planning, design development, and value engineering efforts.
  • Monitor cost performance, commitments, contingencies, and forecasted expenditures.
  • Perform quantity surveying, cost validation, and construction cost control activities.
  • Review contractor applications for payment, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Coordinate and reconcile cost information from contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage change control processes and assess cost impacts associated with project modifications.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding updates for client review.
  • Participate in commercial negotiations and support procurement and contracting activities.
  • Assist in benchmarking, cost data analysis, and lessons learned across multiple projects.
  • Travel to active project sites as required (approximately 25%) to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in cost management and commercial delivery.
  • Support adherence to Turner & Townsend delivery standards, financial controls, and internal business systems.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
