This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days a week in the office and two days remote. Sargent and Lundy is seeking an individual capable of handling various roles in project management, including cost estimating, project engineering, scheduling, and project controls. As a Cost Estimator, you will be involved in project activities such as preparing detailed capital cost estimates using company tools, databases, and historical data. This includes performing material quantity take-offs, labor pricing, and collaborating with vendors for material and equipment costing to support different types of construction cost estimates (rough-order-magnitude; conceptual; construction; fair-cost). You will also understand and apply appropriate mark-ups and productivity factors, coordinate information flow and schedules with project team members to ensure timely completion of estimates, and organize/input cost and quantity information into existing databases. Additionally, you will prepare cash flow, escalation, and interest calculations, develop Estimate Basis documents, and coordinate with engineering to obtain and validate quantities, scope definitions, drawings, and equipment lists. The role also involves authoring and leading the development of engineering equipment lists and studies/reports, implementing project controls and management tools, performing CPI/SPI calculations using earned value principles, and assisting project teams in reconciling estimates against budgets, bids, and actual costs, providing variance explanations.
